IDER - Late To The World
When the duo venture into more experimental waters, they strike gold.
About This Track
'Mirror' finds IDER caught in the disorienting aftermath of a breakup, watching themselves become a stranger. The track opens with obsessive self-examination, the duo's voices locked in unison as they ask whether they can still recognise their own face, their own laugh, their own movements. It is a song about identity fractured by absence, the way another person's presence can become so woven into your sense of self that losing them means losing yourself too. The song builds methodically, layering jagged guitars and synths beneath minimal beats until the chorus arrives with a rush of release. But there is no real relief here. Instead, IDER cycle through the same questions, the same mirror-gazing, the same desperate plea to be healed. A late-song monologue catalogues the ways people disappoint and abandon, a litany that feels both personal and universal. It is a Dork four-star record that refuses easy answers, offering only the small comfort of shared confusion.
