About This Track

A breakup song built around the image of roses, 'Roses' finds Jaehyun spiralling through the aftermath of a relationship. The track opens with the thought that won't leave him alone, a text to an ex, and spirals from there into a portrait of someone unable to move past what's gone. Everything red becomes a trigger. Valentine's Day becomes unbearable. He's stuck in the apartment, replaying conversations, wondering if any of it was real. The song's hook is simple and effective: the repetition of the word itself, layered and echoing, turns the flower into an obsession. Jaehyun's delivery sits somewhere between vulnerability and frustration, caught between the knowledge that she's moved on and the inability to do the same. He compares himself to someone buried six feet deep, drowning in the weight of memory. The production keeps things lean enough that the emotional weight lands without melodrama; the song lets the lyrics do the work, which they do, tracing the particular sting of watching someone else give your ex what you once did.
