About This Track

The lead single from 'In Tongues', released on 17 October 2017, 'Will He' arrived with a music video and marked Joji's shift toward more serious musical territory. The track opens with knotted anxiety, Joji sings of trying his best whilst cataloguing the small gestures (a look, a laugh, a smile) that haunt him in their absence. The repetition loops like intrusive thought.

The central question unfolds as a series of comparisons: will a new lover remember the same details, offer the same touch, play the same songs?
