About This Track

'Cold' finds Korn in a state of psychological siege. The track moves through cycles of intrusive thoughts and mounting dread, with Jonathan Davis inhabiting the voice of someone besieged by internal pressure, describing a mind overtaken by hostile forces. The instrumental performance cuts sharp and precise, supporting rather than overwhelming the vocal delivery. The song dwells in the territory of mental anguish without resolution, building its power through repetition and accumulation rather than catharsis. Davis moves between restraint and intensity, the lyrics circling around thoughts of self-harm and the struggle to resist them.
