About This Track

'Thoughtless' opens with a bass line that cuts through the mix before the verses arrive, each one a catalogue of fantasies turned violent. Korn's lyrics move between aggression and defiance, the narrator positioning himself as both victim and avenger, cycling through accusations of mockery and abuse. The refrain anchors the track: a declaration that hatred cannot be contained, that he will not be drowned by the scheming of others. The song builds toward its most brutal moment, where the emotional core of the track emerges from beneath the rage. What follows is a grinding repetition, the phrase "I've got my body back against the wall" hammered home until it becomes almost a mantra of survival. It is a Korn four-star record in its construction: the bass work carries the weight whilst the vocal delivery oscillates between controlled fury and raw exposure, the arrangement never letting up.
