About This Track
'Julia' is a ballad of apology and self-reckoning. Lauv addresses the title character directly, confessing to the emotional damage he inflicted during their time together: the push and pull, the dishonesty, the way his own unresolved loneliness became a trap he pulled her into. The song moves slowly, its vulnerability anchored in the specificity of his admissions rather than instrumentation alone. The narrative traces a relationship shaped by his emotional unavailability. When they met, he was numb and running; when he left, he wasn't certain he could love at all. He acknowledges leading her into what he calls "the garden of my loneliness" and wishes he had left her alone before everything burned down. The closing refrain stakes a small claim on change: a promise to stop lying, a hope that she finds what she's looking for. It reads as genuine contrition, not redemption.
"Julia" is a track by Lauv, from the album ~How I'm Feeling~, released 2nd October 2019. The track is 3:38 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 14 articles about Lauv.

If pop really is the greatest art form - and it is - Lauv is already one of its masters.

It's been a week packed with new music. We've sifted through the pile and plucked out a few of the best.

During a brief visit to London, we pinned the current-and-future pop megastar down to work out just why he’s so massive.
