About This Track

'Rage' by Medium Build is a 2022 song whose lyrics bounce between vulnerability and defiance, with repeated references to needing closeness and trying to act tough while insisting on a more truthful identity. The speaker calls for names and realness, then turns the feeling inward, declaring “I got this rage” and framing it as something held inside. A sense of emotional pressure builds through the insistence of what they want, and how they want to be reassured, even as the title emotion keeps resurfacing.

"Rage" is a single by Medium Build, released 9th November 2022. The track is 2:41 long. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

Rage

Kiss my face
I spent so long tryna be tough
Say my name
Say my real name

Hold my hand
Tell me everything is gonna be good
Pull me in close
Squeeze me in your arms

I got this rage
This rage inside of me
I got this rage
This rage inside of me

Take me back (take me back)
I'm tired of tryna do it on my own
By your side
That's where I'm gonna to stay

Can I come (yeah)
With you wherever you go?
Call me out
Please don't give up on me now

I got this rage
This rage inside of me
I got this rage
This rage inside of me

Buried deep in my chest
I have things I regret
I get scared, I get mean
Please don't take your love from me

Don't know how I found you
When you doubt, better bring me too
All I have is this love
I can't ever get enough

Got this rage (rage), rage
I got this rage inside of me
Got this rage (rage), rage
I got this rage inside of me
