Pavement to release first new song in 25 years on documentary soundtrack
The band will release their first song since 1999 as part of a new documentary film's soundtrack.

‘Pueblo’ by Pavement is an alternative track from the album ‘Wowee Zowee’, released in 1995. The lyrics take a dim view of display and control, then pivot to a brighter sense of land and inevitability, with the line “It’s coming up golden” cutting through the surrounding fatalism. There is talk of trials, of people turning up to watch, and of binding that happens because it is wanted. Set against that, the song insists on material limits and stubborn beauty, where you cannot buy your way out. The result is a quietly lurid, propulsive portrait of spectacle and consequence.
