About This Track

'Guiding Lights' by Pendulum is a 2025 Electronic track from the album 'Inertia'. The lyrics look back on a failed friendship, regretfully noting how trust was misplaced and how losing a companion feels like losing a home. There is also a disillusioned edge, with the question of what it means to be hated by people the speaker once believed in. The mood balances personal accountability with the ache of learning too late, as the narrator recalls “chasin' a dream” together before reality turns sour.

"Guiding Lights" is a single by Pendulum, from the album Inertia, released 21st August 2025. The track is 4:24 long. It's filed under Electronic. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Pendulum.

Lyrics

Guiding Lights

Oh, I was such a fool
I let him go on, even after I knew he was crazy

We used to walk together, chasin' a dream
Makin' a scene, be the best you can be
Two years, I should have known
Losin' a friend is losin' a home

How does it feel to know you're hated by those you believed in?
To know that I hope you choke?

It's the way you get into my head
Guiding lights, I don't know where you've been
The other day, I was wishin' you were dead
Now there's sights I wish you could have seen
Waste no time, argue with a liar
Now you're down with nowhere left to go
Ten years go straight into the fire

We used to know each other, closer for a while
Gave you a chance, she'll go the extra mile
Self-doubt and fear 'til the end
Nailed yourself to the cross yet again

How does it feel to wake up and wonder why everyone left you?
To know that you fucked yourself?

It's the way you get into my head
Guiding lights, I don't know where you've been
The other day, I was wishin' you were dead
Now there's sights I wish you could have seen
Waste no time, argue with a liar
Now you're down with nowhere left to go
Ten years go straight into the fire

Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches, I bleed no more
Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches

Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches, I bleed no more
Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches

Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches, I bleed no more
Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches, I bleed no more

Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches, I bleed no more
Sharp little tongue, scars I adore
25 stitches
I bleed no more
