About This Track

'Trust Fall' by Pinkshift is a 2022 rock track from the album 'Love Me Forever'. The lyrics cast a fraught, self-lacerating romance, with the speaker trying too hard, offering help they cannot give, and resenting the other person as a reflection of the past. There is a sharp sense of retreat and regret, as the voice admits they have “a shell of who I was”, then continues to describe how reduced and unwanted they feel. The refrain-like returns to indecision and harm make the trust in the title feel less like surrender than a trap.

"Trust Fall" is a track by Pinkshift, from the album Love Me Forever, released 20th October 2022. The track is 3:09 long. It's filed under Rock. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about Pinkshift.

Lyrics

Trust Fall

Bend over backwards
Give you a hand that I don't have
I really hate you
But you're just a mirror of the past

Give your hand, and I'll break it for you, oh
Tell no one
I didn't mean to, whoa-oh
Oh, oh

I gave up a while ago
Now I'm a shell of who I was
So undesirable
Walking on eggshells just because

Give your hand, and I'll break it for you, oh
Tell no one
I didn't mean to, whoa-oh
I love you, and I'll take that from you, oh
Tell no one, or I'll break, I'll break, I'll break

Oh, hello, I've been waiting for you, whoa
I lost control, and I'm not sorry for you, oh
I dug a deep hole to bury you, oh

I lost control
Lost control, oh
Lost control
Lost control
Lost control, oh
Lost control, oh
