Harry Styles hails Thom Yorke as he presents Radiohead frontman with Ivors Fellowship
The singer paused his residency to honour the Radiohead frontman in London.
About This Track
'Lucky' first appeared on The Help Album, a 1995 charity compilation organised by War Child in response to the Bosnian conflict. Radiohead recorded it in five hours with producer Nigel Godrich, who had engineered The Bends. The track was later included on their third studio album, OK Computer. The lyrics adopt the voice of someone pulled from disaster, invoking an air crash and a lake whilst refusing the summons of a head of state. Thom Yorke sings 'Pull me out of the air crash / Pull me out of the lake / 'Cause I'm your superhero', the repeated assertion of luck changing set against the image of standing on the edge. The song was originally more politically explicit before the band settled on the finished version.
"Lucky" is a single by Radiohead, from the album OK Computer, released 20th May 1997. The track is 4:19 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 16 articles about Radiohead.
