'Split Back' by Sad Night Dynamite is an alternative track from 'Volume II' (2022). The lyrics find a speaker trying to lift themselves after a bruising, late-night reckoning, with a sense of regret and a wish to talk things through later. One line captures the moment of hearing a voice after being down, “Lift my head up off the ground”. The repeated movement from injury to persistence gives the song its restless, forward-driving mood, even as the images keep returning to damage, apology and nearly saying goodbye.

Sad Night Dynamite are set to play a trio of sold-out UK shows next month.
It follows up on the duo's debut self-titled mixtape, which was released earlier this year.
