About This Track
Son Lux constructs 'Easy' around a paradox: the speaker performs increasingly drastic acts of self-destruction in the belief that they will simplify emotional pain. Pulling out your heart, breaking free of restraint, burning everything you own, all framed as routes to forgetting. The repetition of the title word hollows it out, turning it into a mantra that rings false even as it's spoken. The song pivots on the gap between intention and outcome. Each gesture toward liberation is undercut by its own violence. There is no ease here, only the exhausted logic of someone convinced that obliteration equals relief. Rafiq Bhatia's production holds the tension taut, letting the lyrics' dark irony breathe without resolution.
