About This Track

'Warning' by Son Lux is an alternative track from the album 'Tomorrows II' released in 2020. The lyrics sit in a wary, intimate register, weighing closeness against uncertainty. Lines like “Can’t promise I’ll be near you” frame a narrator who struggles to make guarantees, even as belief and recognition flicker into view. There is a sense of borrowed presence, misread signs, and a gaze that keeps returning to someone at the edge of dreaming, with the final image of a shadow at a bedside giving the whole passage a haunted tenderness.

"Warning" is a track by Son Lux, from the album Tomorrows II, released 4th December 2020. The track is 3:02 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Son Lux.

Lyrics

Warning

Can't promise I'll be near you
All the way up through the end
You believe me now don't you?
These are not our hours to promise
Borrowed hands, borrowed eyes
And whose light is this that pours through them into us?
Felt your shadow at my bedside
Yeah, I mistook you for a dream
Borrowed arms, borrowed ears
Whose sounds are these, and oh
Hear them howling out from us
Am I leaving you in the morning my dear?

Am I leaving you in the morning my dear?
Am I leaving you in the morning my dear?

I'm leaving you the warning, my dear
I'm leaving you the warning, my dear
