Ashes In The Birdbath

It was warm that day

I will never forget how it naturally bent in our favor

We're young

How you begged that we live in a predator universe

But you tell me

"Can't be killed off

Can't be lessened

We're choked by the world"

Magic is real and death is so feral

Let's get fantastic all over town as we drove up that hill

And spread your ashes in the birdbath of love

Love can be misunderstood

The way we see ourselves in each other

I carried you from home to home across the country and back

And I cried all year

Cause some of my friends keep dying on me over  again

But I saw a sky so beautiful I believed in hope over despair
