About This Track

'Wicked' floats on a minimalist beat of altered hi-hats and shifting bass, Trippie Redd's voice drifting across a fantasy of weightlessness and escape. The song builds its world from a single image: stars embedded in the ceiling, a marker of arrival at some elevated state. He moves through it with the ease of someone who has shed gravity, rapping about floating in a Wraith, moving at the speed of light, keeping threats at a distance. The repetition of the chorus, "we'll go to the moon and the stars", becomes less a promise than a statement of fact, something already accomplished. The track reads as a celebration of intoxication and its suspension of time, Trippie Redd describing the numbing of pain and the comfort of a mind at rest.
