About This Track
'Pleaser' traces the paralysis of someone caught between desire and silence. The narrator watches himself fail to speak, rehearsing words in empty rooms, biting his tongue until the gesture becomes automatic. There's a particular ache in the gap between what he feels and what he can articulate; his voice annoys him enough that he'd rather talk to himself than risk the moment with another person. The song moves between confession and withdrawal, between the blur of depression and something almost like contentment. Wallows build the track around a simple, recurring hook: the admission of being a people pleaser, someone so bent on accommodation that he's forgotten how to want anything for himself. It's a portrait of young-adult paralysis, all hesitation and averted eyes, where even proximity to another person feels like a test he's already failing.

‘Model’ was built with big rooms in mind.

Wallows are a sensation that continues to grow. Putting voice to feeling, they're turning buzz into the big time.
Wallows have that innate ability to make any day that little bit sunnier just for hearing one of their songs.
It feels almost effortless for Wallows at this point.

This month, Wallows run the gauntlet of our random, stupid queries.

"It's something we've talked about since we were kids."
