'Going Under' by Wallows is a 2024 alternative track from the album 'Model'. The lyrics find the narrator scared of going under, convinced that it might be over, as their head “hits the pavement”. They sing about a partner isolating and slowing things down, with the narrator hoping it might be better this year even as they ask for reassurance and the words they want to hear. There is a plea for someone to hold things steady when they cannot speak, and to wake them up when it is over. The mood is anxious and dependent, set against the language of isolation and brinkmanship.
"Going Under" is a track by Wallows, from the album Model, released 23rd April 2024. The track is 2:52 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Wallows.

Before becoming Wallows in 2017, Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston played as The Feaver and The Narwhals. Their documented pre-Wallows release is The Narwhals’ four-song EP from October 2014.

Dork’s April 2022 response to Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’ put it alongside The Strokes, Wallows and Alfie Templeman. It was a description of the song’s place in pop at the time, not a claim about confirmed influences.

Wallows made 2024’s ‘Model’ with their largest shows in mind, but Alexandra Palace showed that the older songs had always contained the same live-ready foundations.

Wallows’ seven-track ‘More’ came from the same recording period as ‘Model’, but the band felt the songs had become a distinct collection rather than bonus material.

Wallows’ 2019 debut was built from a decade of friendship, self-doubt, jokes and songs that have remained central to their biggest live shows.
