About This Track

'Joy' by Will Young is a 2015 pop track from the album '85% Proof'. The lyrics cast a buoyant, liberation-leaning moment, with lines about hands up, running fast, and sticking together, before the refrain insists, “We feel Joy”. It is built around the idea that freedom arrives in a shared, physical closeness, paired with a dismissal of what does not matter. The song’s emotional centre is upbeat reassurance, landing on a simple promise of having everything required.

"Joy" is a track by Will Young, from the album 85% Proof, released 24th May 2015. The track is 3:29 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Will Young.

Lyrics

Joy

[Verse 1]

My hands are in the air and I'm running as fast as I can

I knew this day would come and we would be free

Come and hold hands lets stick together

Take a big leap and jump right over

[Chorus]

We feel Joy

We feel Joy

Nothing really matters we've got everything we need

Take a big leap we will feel joy

[Verse 2]

When the wave hits there's nothing that we're gonna do

Make piece with yourself and take a little breath or two

Come and hold hands lets stick together

Take a big leap and jump right over

[Chorus 2]

We feel joy

We feel joy

Nothing really matters we've got everything we need

Take a big leap, we will feel joy

We will feel joy

Joy

We will feel joy

Nothing really matters we've got everything we need

Take a big leap, we will feel joy

[Chorus 3]

Nothing really matters we've got everything we need

Take a big leap and we will feel joy

Joy

We feel joy

We will feel joy

Nothing really matters we've got everything we need

Take a big leap and we will feel joy
