The xx delivered a fifteen-song set at their Coachella comeback
The band's first festival appearance in eight years spanned all three albums.

After an absence stretching back to 2017, The xx have returned to the Coachella stage with a performance spanning all three of their studio albums alongside material from their individual solo work.
Performing on 10th April ahead of headliner Sabrina Carpenter, the set represented the group's first festival appearance in eight years. It followed a warm-up show at Mexico City's Pepsi Center WTC on 3rd April, which itself marked their first live outing since 2018.
Amongst the fifteen tracks performed, the band wove in a medley drawing on their solo catalogues, incorporating 'Enjoy Your Life', 'GMT' and 'Wanna' alongside fan favourites such as 'Crystalised', 'Angels', 'VCR' and closer 'Intro'.
Reflecting on the evening via Instagram, the group shared: "Coachella, night one – we couldn't have imagined a return like this. Our first festival show in eight years, and to share it with you at sunset felt special. Thank you so much! See you next weekend."
Activity around The xx has been building steadily. Jamie xx mentioned in 2024 that the group were "having a good time" working on fresh material, and the trio were spotted together in the studio last March. Each member has pursued individual releases since 'I See You' in 2017 — Romy put out debut solo record 'Mid Air' in 2023, Oliver Sim released 'Hideous Bastard' in 2022, and Jamie xx's second album 'In Waves' arrived in 2024, featuring both bandmates on 'Waited All Night'.
The full setlist ran: 'Crystalised', 'Say Something Loving', 'Islands', 'Angels', 'Fiction', 'I'll Take Care Of You', 'Shelter', 'VCR', 'Enjoy Your Life', 'Wanna', 'Treat Each Other Right', 'GMT', 'On Hold', 'I Dare You' and 'Intro'.
