5 Seconds of Summer, often abbreviated as 5SOS, is an Australian pop rock band formed in Sydney in 2011. The group includes lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. The band initially gained popularity as YouTube content creators before touring with the British-Irish boy band One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour. They released the single 'She Looks So Perfect' in early 2014, which reached number one in four countries. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2014 and peaked at number one in 11 countries. Their second album, Sounds Good Feels Good, was released in 2015 and topped charts in eight countries. The band's third album, Youngblood, released in 2018, also achieved commercial success, reaching number one in Australia. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer have sold over 10 million albums, sold more than 2 million concert tickets worldwide, and accumulated over 7 billion streams on music streaming platforms.
