Feeder are a Welsh rock band formed in 1994. The band has been credited with sales of 1.2 million albums and 1.4 million singles in the UK, according to the British Phonographic Industry. They were inducted into The Kerrang! Hall of Fame in August 2019. The band originated from an earlier group called Reel, formed in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Grant Nicholas, drummer Jon Lee, and bassist Simon Blight, all of whom had been members of Raindancer. After Blight left Reel later in 1992, the band played with various session bassists until Taka Hirose joined in 1994, at which point they rebranded as Feeder. That same year, they signed with The Echo Label. Feeder gained media attention in 2001 for their third album, Echo Park, and its lead single, 'Buck Rogers,' which became a top five platinum-selling single in the UK. Drummer Jon Lee died by suicide in Miami in January 2002, prompting the remaining members to record and perform with former Skunk Anansie drummer Mark Richardson. Later that year, they released their fourth album, Comfort in Sound.
