Rina Sawayama is a Japanese-British singer, actress, and model born on 16 August 1990 in Niigata, Japan. She emigrated to London with her parents at age five. In 2017, she self-released her debut extended play, Rina. After signing with Dirty Hit in 2020, she released her debut studio album, Sawayama. Her second studio album, Hold the Girl, was released on 16 September 2022. She has been recognized for her musical versatility and incorporation of feminism into her work. Sawayama has also modeled for fashion campaigns and made her acting debut in the film John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).
