SKY FERREIRA

Sky Ferreira is an American singer-songwriter, model, and actress born on July 8, 1992. She began uploading videos on Myspace as a teenager, which led to her discovery by producers Bloodshy & Avant and a recording contract with Parlophone in 2009. Ferreira released her first extended play, As If!, in 2011, which combined electropop and dance music. Her second EP, Ghost, released in 2012, featured pop with more stripped-down song structures and collaborations with Jon Brion and Shirley Manson. The track "Everything Is Embarrassing," which she co-wrote with Dev Hynes, received critical acclaim. After delays and disputes with her record label, her debut studio album, Night Time, My Time, was released in October 2013. The album marked a stylistic shift toward experimental indie rock with synth-pop elements and was well received by critics. In 2013, Ferreira also appeared in Eli Roth's film The Green Inferno.
