Eagles guitarist and founder member Glenn Frey has passed away at the age of 67, it has been revealed.

Forming the band with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner in 1971 after getting together as members of Linda Rondstadt's backing band, they became one of America's best known groups, with hits including 'Hotel California' and 'Take It Easy'. Frey died following a battle with intestinal problems.
A statement from his family and bandmates reads: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18, 2016.
"Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.
