Held over the Whitsun period in Landgraaf, in the south of the Netherlands, Pinkpop is one of mainland Europe's grand old institutions, a sprawling outdoor weekend on the Megaland site that has been its home since 1988. The bill leans broad rather than purist, mixing stadium rock, pop, hip hop and dance, and the festival sits early enough in the calendar to catch acts before their summer touring properly begins. First staged in 1970, Pinkpop is recognised by Guinness World Records as the longest-running continuous annual pop festival in the world, a distinction it has earned across more than fifty editions. Its stages have carried Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among hundreds of others, and the 2025 edition was topped by Justin Timberlake, Olivia Rodrigo and Muse. It remains very much a going concern.
