The Irish folk track premieres as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record.
Kingfishr have shared new single ‘The Sun Will Never Settle’, their second release of 2026.
Out now via B-Unique/Atlantic Records, the track follows earlier single ‘The Blade’ and arrives after the Limerick trio wrapped up a fully sold-out UK tour, including two nights at London’s Brixton Academy.
“The song is about the end of a relationship, and being better off for the experience,” says Keogh. “Sometimes these things don’t work out. That’s not ideal, but it also doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it either.
“If you’re lucky enough to end a relationship and both be better people as a result, you are part of a very prestigious club. Congratulations.”
Kingfishr released their debut album ‘Halcyon’ last August, with the record reaching Number 1 in Ireland and the UK Top 10. This summer sees the trio continue that momentum with a packed festival schedule and a run of major outdoor Irish headline dates.
