Eilleen Regina "Shania" Twain, born August 28, 1965, is a Canadian country singer and songwriter. She has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time and the best-selling female artist in country music history. She received titles such as the "Queen of Country Pop" and was named by Billboard as a leader among 1990s country-pop crossover artists. Twain grew up in Timmins, Ontario, and from a young age pursued singing and songwriting. She signed with Mercury Nashville Records in the early 1990s. Her self-titled debut album was a commercial failure upon release in 1993. After collaborating with producer and future husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange, she achieved widespread success with her second album, The Woman in Me (1995), which sold over 20 million copies worldwide and produced eight singles, including "Any Man of Mine." The album earned her a Grammy Award.
