Taylor Alison Swift, born December 13, 1989, is an American singer-songwriter. She signed with Big Machine Records in 2005 and released her debut album, Taylor Swift, in 2006. Her early work was primarily in country music, with her 2008 album Fearless producing singles such as "Teardrops on My Guitar," "Love Story," and "You Belong with Me," which achieved crossover success on country and pop radio. Her 2010 album Speak Now incorporated rock influences, while Red (2012) explored electronic elements. In 2014, she transitioned to pop with the album 1989, characterized by synth-pop sounds. Her 2017 album Reputation reflected media scrutiny and included hip-hop influences. During the 2010s, she achieved multiple US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, including "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Bad Blood," and "Look What You Made Me Do." In 2018, she moved to Republic Records and released the album Lover in 2019. She has re-recorded four of her first six albums following a dispute with her former label. Swift is recognized as a highly successful live performer and one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
