SZA reveals Taylor Swift was open to songwriting collaboration

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the ‘Snooze’ singer spoke about her interactions with Swift at the Grammy Awards.

SZA has revealed discussions with Taylor Swift about a potential songwriting collaboration.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the ‘Snooze’ singer spoke about her interactions with Swift at the Grammy Awards. “Every time she walks up to me or approaches me, I’m just like, ‘All right, this is happening, because that’s fully Taylor Swift’,” SZA said. “I think what I mentioned was that I would love to write with her and love to build some things together.”

“I love her storytelling. She was open to it,” SZA continued. “I think she’s awesome. She’s so bossed up.”

During the interview, SZA also expressed admiration for several other artists’ songwriting abilities, including Chappell Roan, Doechii and Gracie Abrams. “I love storytelling. There’s something about that type of storytelling,” she explained. “It’s a deep inner storytelling that reflects their human experience and it reflects that.”

The revelation follows SZA’s recent release of ‘SOS Deluxe: Lana’, an expanded version of her 2022 album ‘SOS’. The singer is set to tour with Kendrick Lamar following their Super Bowl Halftime show performance earlier this year.
