"Lubbock"
So this song, I wrote after living in Lubbock for, I guess, a season of my life
A short season
I really kind of adopted it as my— like, a new hometown, if you will, and—
Just enamored by the music history there
And the people, and the kindness that they have in, in their hearts
And their love they have for the community
And so I wrote this song
I've been sitting on it for a while 'cause it never really
Never really made sensе to put it on any of these other projеcts
But, finally, it has a place to, to live now
And, uh, we actually recorded the song, again, with Scott Faris
Um, while we were in town with this other band that I play in, The Panhandlers
And we snuck away after soundcheck
And recorded it all on tape
And after the show
We had a lot of the Panhandlers guys and band come on over to the, uh, studio
And then we had a big old rowdy time
And what you're listening to at the end of the song is just everybody
It's controlled chaos
And it's one of my favorite songs and moments we've ever captured on tape
