BLACKPINK’s Jisoo reveals Britney Spears inspired her new solo album ‘Amortage’

The star states Spears’ ‘…Baby One More Time’ video as a key influence for her latest solo release.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has revealed that Britney Spears served as inspiration for her new solo mini-album ‘Amortage’.

Speaking to Billboard about the release, Jisoo shared her admiration for the pop star’s iconic music video. “Every time I prepare for a solo release, I always find myself going back to her ‘…Baby One More Time’ music video as a reference,” she said. “I love that pop vibe, and I always say, ‘I want to shoot something with that kind of energy’. It’s a video I constantly use as inspiration when creating my own.”

The release marks Jisoo’s first musical output since establishing her own label Blissoo, following her departure from YG Entertainment. Her previous solo work includes the single album ‘Me’, which featured the title track ‘Flower’ and B-side ‘All Eyes On Me’.

Jisoo also discussed BLACKPINK’s forthcoming world tour. “I think last year, as each member focused on individual activities, we all grew a lot. Now as we come together this year, I feel like we’ll be able to return with an even bigger and more spectacular presence,” she explained. “We’ve already done a lot of preparations for this year.”

Alongside her musical endeavours, Jisoo has expanded her acting career, taking the lead role in Prime Video K-drama series Newtopia, starring alongside Park Jeong-min.
