Blur are set to release two celebratory prints marking the 10th anniversary of their eighth studio album 'The Magic Whip' in collaboration with London's Jealous Gallery.
The prints, designed by artist Tony Hung, include 'Blur The Magic Whip', an open edition glow-in-the-dark reproduction of the album's cover art, and 'Blur The Ice Cream Man', a limited edition of 250 signed and numbered prints. Both works will debut at Jealous' Summer Show on 14th and 15th June at St Michael's Church in Shoreditch, with 'Blur The Magic Whip' becoming available online via Jealous Gallery from 15th June.
'The Magic Whip', released on 27th April 2015, emerged from recording sessions at Avon Studios in Kowloon, Hong Kong, during a five-day break in touring in Spring 2013. The material was later revisited by Graham Coxon in November 2014, who worked alongside the band's early producer Stephen Street to develop the tracks before Damon Albarn added lyrics to complete the 12-song collection.
The album, which became the first to have its own official ice cream, featured singles 'Go Out', 'There Are Too Many Of Us', 'Lonesome Street', 'Ong Ong' and 'I Broadcast'.
The 'Blur The Magic Whip' print measures 60cms x 60cms and is priced at £195 including VAT, while the 'Blur The Ice Cream Man' print measures 53cms x 70cms and is available for £295 including VAT. Additional shipping costs apply to both prints.
