Central Cee and Bashy win big at the 2025 MOBO Awards in Newcastle
Central Cee wins Best Male Act for third year running while Bashy and Ayra Starr also triumph at Newcastle's MOBO Awards.

Central Cee, Bashy and Ayra Starr have emerged as the major winners at the 27th MOBO Awards, held at Newcastle's Utilita Arena.
Bashy claimed two significant awards, taking home Album Of The Year for 'Being Poor Is Expensive', his first release in 15 years, alongside Best Hip Hop Act. Central Cee secured Best Male Act for the third consecutive time, setting a new record in the category.
The ceremony, hosted by Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack, saw Darkoo receive dual honours, winning Best Female Act and Song Of The Year for 'Favourite Girl', a collaboration with Dess Dior. Ayra Starr also collected two awards, being named Best African Music Act and Best International Act.
Other notable recipients included Ezra Collective, who were awarded Best Jazz Act, while ALT BLK ERA secured the Best Alternative Music Act category. Odeal received recognition in both the Best Newcomer and Best R&B/Soul Act categories.
