Lauren Mayberry is set to give a first taster of her new solo material next month.
The CHVRCHES star will debut new track ‘Are You Awake?’ on 1st September.
She announced the news with a short video of a photo shoot for the single’s cover art. The audio doesn’t give away too much as to the sound of the track, but if fans pre-save or pre-add on streaming services, they’re treated to a preview of the final artwork.
Last month, Lauren announced her first solo tour – with four UK shows set to take place this October.
“For a long time, I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything outside of CHVRCHES,” she says. “But as I sail / stumble through this era of my life, it has started to feel like there are things I want to write and say and do that need to be done on my own. This solo project, I hope, will be my fun, freaky, sad, weird, joyful pop playground and I am so looking forward to sharing it with you.”
