Kele Okereke, frontman of Bloc Party, has released his new single ‘Hometown Edge’.
It’s the lead single from his forthcoming solo project, set to arrive later this year via KOLA Records / !K7. The track marks Kele’s first solo release since 2023’s ‘The Waves Pt. 2’, and serves as the soundtrack to a late-night London adventure.
“I realise London has been a constant source of inspiration for me as a songwriter,” Kele notes. “In my writing it’s always been there on the periphery, but it felt right doing something where my love for the city was front and centre. Over the years, life in the capital has shaped who I am and what I am, so it was nice to pay homage to that.”
Earlier this summer, Bloc Party celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ with a sold-out show at Crystal Palace Park in London, their biggest headline performance to date.
