American singer Kelela fuses dance and R&B on her new single, ‘On The Run’, the third cut from her newly-announced sophomore LP, ‘Raven’.

The new track follows two previous singles, ‘Washed Away’ and ‘Happy Ending’, both of which will also feature on the full-length record. Her debut effort, ‘Take Me Apart’, landed in 2017, with a remix album arriving the following year.

Raven’ promises to explore autonomy, belonging, and self-renewal across 15 tracks skillfully straddling the crossover between R&B and dance music. It is slated to be released in full on February 10th via Warp Records.

“I started this process from the feeling of isolation and alienation I’ve always had as a black femme in dance music, despite its black origins,” Kelela says of her upcoming project. “‘Raven’ is my first breath taken in the dark, an affirmation of black femme perspective in the midst of systemic erasure and the sound of our vulnerability turned to power.”
