King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have finished work on their new album
A synth-heavy Instagram clip hints at a techno direction for album twenty-eight

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have confirmed that their 28th studio album is finished, sharing a snippet of new music that points towards a techno-driven sound for the record.
The prolific Australian group posted on Instagram with the caption announcing the album is done, alongside footage of band members positioned behind wired-up synthesisers, triggering what appears to be a high-energy techno track. The post suggests the release could arrive before long.
The new material marks a notable sonic shift from 2025's 'Phantom Island', which drew heavily on orchestral arrangements. As with their recent output, the album is expected to arrive through the band's own p(doom) Records imprint.
Later this year, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have a busy summer schedule lined up. They are set to host their Field of Vision festival in Buena Vista, Colorado in August, alongside a three-day residency at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City that will include a dedicated rave show.
