Lady Gaga has detailed the sonic direction of her upcoming seventh studio album 'Mayhem', explaining how it differs from her previous releases.
The album follows 2020's 'Chromatica' and her 2024 'Joker: Folie a Deux' companion record 'Harlequin'. Three singles have been shared from the record so far: 'Die With A Smile' featuring Bruno Mars, 'Disease', and 'Abracadabra'. The album will also feature a collaboration with Gesaffelstein.
Speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Gaga reflected on the distinct characteristics of her previous albums, saying: "'Artpop' was a vibe. 'Joanne' was a sound, 'Chromatica' had a sound all different [to the rest]."
Gaga is set to host and perform as musical guest on Saturday Night Live following the album's release. She has also announced her first performance in Mexico in 13 years, alongside a free show at Copacabana Beach in Rio.
