The Last Dinner Party have signed up as ambassadors for the Independent Venue Community charity

The Last Dinner Party have been announced as Ambassadors for Independent Venue Community (IVC), alongside a wave of new supporters including Radiohead's Philip Selway and Public Service Broadcasting.

The announcement was made during a Parliamentary reception for IVC, a charity focused on promoting daytime community activities in music venues. The BRIT Award winners highlighted the importance of these spaces, stating: "We owe independent venues our entire career. They gave us a platform to perform for the first time. But even before we started the band, seeing other people perform on stage emboldened us. It gave us the confidence to do that ourselves."

The charity has also welcomed 18 new patrons, including artists and industry figures such as Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett, Bishi, Lambrini Girls, Pigs x 7, LIFE, Nuha Ruby Ra, and Brooke Combe.

IVC founder and CEO Sybil Bell emphasised the importance of securing long-term industry support: "There is growing recognition of how crucial these spaces are for the UK's music culture, and with IVC we are expanding that potential by encouraging venues to offer daytime programming for everyone in their local community. To deliver this, it is vital IVC wins long-term industry support."

The charity, which launched in September 2024, focuses on social prescribing activities for various demographic groups, including parents and toddlers, young people, deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people, the LGBTQIA+ community, and older generations. Their latest initiative, GROW, supports venues in developing outside spaces for planting and wildlife activities.
