Lava La Rue has released new EP ‘Do You Know Everything?’ as their full-band era takes shape

Lava La Rue has put out a new EP, 'Do You Know Everything?' (DYKE), via BMG, with 'Girl Is A Knife' serving as its lead track.
The four-song release follows a listening party held at a secret venue in London and presents a new setup for the West London artist, with the project now framed around both Lava as an individual voice and a full band.
That shift developed after Lava's 2024 debut album 'STARFACE'. Following earlier releases including 'Butter-Fly' and 'Hi-Fidelity', the new EP moves further into live instrumentation and a punk-informed approach.
Alongside Lava, the wider lineup includes guitarists Sadie Sadist and George Werbrouck-Edwards, drummer Cian Hanley, bassist Biz Wicks, and drummer and producer Mattu.
Lava said: "I’m at a stage now where I’m like: what is my sound?" The answer began to take shape during time spent on Mount Naeba in Japan's Niigata prefecture, where days snowboarding and nights playing music in a cabin prompted reflection on identity, authenticity and connection. Back in London, that developed into a stronger focus on live shows, underground immediacy and community.
Discussing the collaborative nature of the record, Lava added: "It’s still undeniably my story and it’s authentic to me, but I’m writing with them, and their influences play a role." Fraser T. Smith produced and mixed the EP after connecting with Lava through work on his Future Utopia visuals.
The tracklist for 'Do You Know Everything?' includes 'easy come, easy go', 'JET LAGGED', 'Scratches', and 'Girl Is A Knife'.
