South London band Lip Filler have shared a new single titled ‘Tricky’.

The track was produced by St Francis Hotel, known for work with Little Simz and Michael Kiwanuka, and marks their first release single EP ‘witchescrew’. Its accompanying music video was filmed at London’s Electric Ballroom during the band’s recent support slot with Master Peace.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist George Tucker says: “All of a sudden it was summer. I had submerged myself in a period of introspection. At one point I remember feeling so removed that I wrote the entire opening verse on my leg with a permanent marker on the tube, to the sideward glances of commuters. After scrawling ‘I’m giving up / I’m getting out’, everything began to click. Suddenly it felt cathartic. Two weeks later I moved out of London. After we finished the hook, it ended up becoming this tongue-in-cheek pop song. I’ve noticed we do that a lot. Icebergs. Hopeless anxieties smothered with surface-level sleaze. Maybe that’s what Lip Filler is? I say that like any of us have a clue…”

The five-piece are currently working on their third EP, which will be released via their own witchescrew imprint in 2025.
