Luvcat explores love and kink with her new single ‘Lipstick’, and a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-inspired video

Rising artist Luvcat releases ‘Lipstick’, a new single and self-directed video exploring themes of love, desire, and submission.

Artists: Luvcat

Luvcat has shared her new single ‘Lipstick’, accompanied by a self-directed music video.

The track follows her recent European headline tour and explores themes of love and relationships. The single was inspired by a chance encounter with a musician who later contributed drums to the recording.

“Lipstick is a song about love and kink. The desire to please and feel like a little doll to be played with but shown tenderness and devotion in equal measure,” Luvcat says. “It came from meeting a man who called me ‘doll’…”

The accompanying video, co-directed by Luvcat and Ollie Bradley-Baker, draws inspiration from classic cinema. “The music video was inspired by my favourite scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ‘Doll on a Music Box’. I used to dress up as her as a kid… a wind up doll come to life to terrorize the town. Some things never change I guess,” she explains.

The release follows previous singles ‘Matador’, ‘He’s My Man’, and ‘Love & Money’, which have accumulated over 25 million streams collectively. Luvcat has recently completed a headline tour across Europe, performing in Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Warsaw.
