Panic Shack have shared a video for their friendship anthem ‘Thelma & Louise’

Cardiff band Panic Shack releases ‘Thelma & Louise’, a friendship-themed love song from their upcoming self-titled debut album.

Artists: Panic Shack

Cardiff’s Panic Shack have shared new single ‘Thelma & Louise’, taken from their upcoming self-titled debut album set for release on 18th July via Brace Yourself Records.

The track serves as the album’s closing number and marks the band’s first venture into love song territory, focusing on the theme of friendship rather than romance. The accompanying video, directed by Ren Faulkner, follows the band on a road trip inspired by the iconic film.

“‘Thelma & Louise’ is the first love song we’ve ever written (and will probably be the last),” the band explain. “It’s an ode to female friendships and how they’re often more fulfilling than romantic relationships. We were inspired to write this song after watching the feminist masterpiece that is Thelma & Louise. It resonated with us so much because we’re quite frankly obsessed with each other. There are a million songs about love interests and broken hearts and we thought it was about time we championed being in love with your best friends.”

The five-piece – comprising Sarah Harvey (vocals), Meg Fretwell (guitar/backing vocals), Romi Lawrence (guitar/backing vocals), Em Smith (bass) and Nick Doherty-Williams (drums) – worked with producer Ali Chant on their debut album, which features previously released singles ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’ and ‘Gok Wan’.
