The full list of nominees also includes Joy Division/New Order, OutKast, Soundgarden, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol, and more.

Maybe, definitely not: Liam Gallagher shoots down those Oasis album whispers

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have announced their nominees for the class of 2025, with The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Mariah Carey, Oasis, OutKast, and Phish among those shortlisted.

The full list of nominees also includes Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol, Maná, Joe Cocker, Chubby Checker, Bad Company, and The Black Crowes.

Seven of this year’s nominees appear on the ballot for the first time: OutKast, Phish, Billy Idol, Joe Cocker, Chubby Checker, Bad Company, and The Black Crowes. To qualify for nomination, artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year of nomination.

The final inductees will be selected through votes from an international body of more than 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals, alongside a public fan vote conducted through the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s website. The Class of 2025 will be revealed in late April, with an induction ceremony to follow in Los Angeles this autumn.

The announcement follows last year’s induction of Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, and Kool & The Gang.
