Slaney Bay have returned with ‘That’s Cool’, a new single about mixed signals and close friendships
The four-piece are following up their 2025 EP, 'The Long Way Home'.

South-West London outfit Slaney Bay have put out a new single, 'That's Cool', which explores the ambiguity at the heart of a close LGBT+ friendship.
Their first new single of the year, the band explain: "'That’s Cool' is about a flirty LGBT+ friendship. The subtle hand brushes that neither of you address. Looking for each other in a crowded room.
"Ears burn red when you hold each other's eye contact for a moment too long... When other friends ask, “Is something happening between you two?” You just laugh it off. ‘That’s Cool’ captures the uncertainty of a tactile female friendship: Are we flirting or are we just friends?"
Comprising Cait Whitley on vocals, Joel Martin on bass, Will Nicola-Thompson on guitar and Jonny Burraway on drums, the four-piece have built their reputation through a run of EPs including 'A Life Worth Living' and 'The Long Way Home'.
On the live circuit, they have opened for acts such as Coach Party, Bleach Lab, Sinéad O'Brien and The Clockworks, while also selling out a headline show at Colours in London.
