The Futureheads are set to release their first Christmas album, titled 'Christmas', on 21st November.
The album was recorded over nine months in Sunderland, and features both reimagined Christmas classics and two original tracks: 'The Coldest Winter in 100 Years' and 'Christmas Was Better in the 80s'.
The idea for the album originated from the band's recent return to live performances, particularly their Christmas gigs in the North East.
"We are proud to have self-produced this collection of recordings. We are also proud and grateful to be still making music together after all these years and this album is a celebration of that. We love being in this band and when in good spirits, we make a special sound," The Futureheads stated.
The Futureheads will support the album with a series of live shows in December, set to take place in Glasgow, Sunderland, and London.
The dates read:
DECEMBER8 Oran Mor, Glasgow, UK19 The Fire Station, Sunderland, UK20 The Fire Station, Sunderland, UK22 EartH Theatre, Hackney, UK
The tracklisting for 'Christmas' reads:
'Carol of the Bells''Stop the Cavalry''Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas''What's This?''In The Bleak Midwinter''The Twelve Days of Christmas''Wonderful Christmastime''2000 Miles''The Coldest Winter for a Hundred Years''Christmas Was Better in the 80s'
