thistle. have shared ‘pylon’, a new single they credit to an energy drink
Cardiff rehearsal rooms and Monster Energy fuelled the trio's latest track.

Alt-rock trio thistle. have unveiled 'pylon', their latest single via REX RECS. It joins 'tied' and 'pieces' as the third track to emerge from the group's 'backflip' EP, which arrives on 29th May.
Written during a rehearsal session in Cardiff, the song was laid down at producer Macks Faulkron's REX Studios alongside the rest of the EP. The band credit an unlikely source of inspiration for the track.
Speaking about the single, they said: "'pylon' was the last song that we wrote before going into the studio, coming together in a Cardiff, Wales rehearsal studio. Very much powered by Monster Energy. I genuinely credit the song to the energy drink. It's not a drink we particularly enjoy but it was the only high-caffeine beverage available at the time. Do what you can - write what you can - when in Cardiff!"
A packed schedule of live shows lies ahead for thistle., with a UK headline run throughout May taking in venues including Moth Club in London and Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff. Festival appearances at The Great Escape, Bearded Theory, 2000trees and Brighton Psych Fest are also on the horizon.
