Tunde Adebimpe, Joey Valance & Brae and more have joined Iceland Airwaves 2025

TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and Icelandic group Retro Stefson headline November’s Iceland Airwaves festival alongside international and local acts.

Iceland Airwaves have announced the second wave of artists for their 2025 festival, set to take place in Reykjavík from 6th – 8th November.

TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe joins the lineup, performing material from his solo album ‘The Black Boltz’. Iraqi-American band nabeel, East London MC Jeshi, and US duo Joey Valance & Brae are also set to appear, alongside Japanese-Canadian artist Saya Gray.

The festival welcomes back Icelandic group Retro Stefson, known for their chart-topping tracks ‘Glow’, ‘She Said’ and ‘Queen’. Additional domestic acts include musician and film composer JFDR, alongside hip-hop artists Ala$$$ka1867 and Herra Hnetusmjör.

“Every year, our mission is to bring together the most exciting new talent from Iceland and around the world — and this year’s lineup is shaping up to be one of our strongest yet,” says Festival Manager Ísleifur Þórhallsson. “From the much-anticipated return of Retro Stefson, to the riotous energy of Joey Valance & Brae, and the iconic voice of Tunde Adebimpe, we’re proud to showcase the kind of creative spirit that makes Reykjavík and Iceland Airwaves so unique.”

A special partner event at Harpa will feature Mugison performing with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, with arrangements created specifically for the festival.
