Filipino-American artist April Harper Grey, known as underscores, has put out a brand new nine-track record titled 'U' through Mom+Pop.

Drawing from dubstep, future bass, jazz chords and guitars, the album represents a shift towards pop. Three singles preceded the album's arrival: 'Music', 'Do It' and 'Tell Me (U Want It)'.

Speaking about the record, underscores said: "Music for malls, airports, hotels, supermarkets. I wrote these songs for U."

To mark the release, underscores hosted a global livestream from Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco - the Bay Area shopping centre where Grey spent much of her youth.
